Engineering not only allows me to explore ingenuity and creativity but also enables me to appreciate and experience the value of collaboration and leadership.

Throughout my high school career, I have been fortunate enough to be able to explore the realm of engineering through several outlets including the Okemos First Robotics Team. Robotics served as my first introduction to engineering and has since fostered a curiosity of creation within me, one that has been constantly aided with the help of my teammates and now friends.

I hope to be able to continue this journey of engineering and camaraderie throughout my collegiate and professional career, and the Eagle Engineering Scholarship will help significantly in my pursuit.

I am incredibly honored to be able to receive the Eagle Engineering Scholarship and hope to foster the friendly engineering spirit that Eagle once had in myself and others.

2023 RECIPENT:

JOAQUIN REY

I joined the Robotics Team in my freshman year, excited to build a robot.

Throughout the years, I learned the values of leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving. I will never forget the number of hours that were spent reading documentation and programming, or the intense competitions where it felt like everything that could go wrong went wrong.

While I couldn’t interact with Eagle that much, I remember seeing him in my freshman and sophomore year and looking up to him as he always seemed like a strong and passionate leader. I am incredibly honored to win this scholarship and hope I can pass on Eagle’s passion and inspire others to be as excited about engineering as I am.

2022 RECIPIENT:

BERELIAN KARIMIAN

May 18th, 2022

I’m Berelian Karimian, and I am honored to receive the Eagle Engineering Scholarship this year.

I have been involved with robotics since Freshman year and learned new skills that I hope to carry with me throughout my academic career.

This award stands for the promotion of engineering within our youth to improve the world around them.

Being a part of robotics has taught me leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving which can be applied to any aspect of my life. Not only that, but I have fond memories of late nights with the team while brainstorming and telling jokes.

I hope to embody Eagle’s enthusiastic attitude when it comes to STEM to inspire younger generations to follow in our footsteps.
